JUST IN: Trump Gets Game-Changing Campaign Update

Former President Donald Trump just received a massive financial update that could have far-reaching implications for his campaign.

A number of billionaire donors plan to throw their support behind Trump now that he has secured the Republican nomination for president in November, according to a report from Fox News. The positive development for the Trump campaign comes as the former president seeks to narrow the fundraising gap with President Biden. This weekend, Trump will be hosting a number of high-profile Republican donors for an “Inaugural Leadership Dinner” at Mar-A-Lago. The event will be led by billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson and will be co-chaired by hedge fund giant Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, oil executive Harold Hamm, hotelier Robert Bigelow and casino mogul Steve Wynn, Fox News reported.

Hamm and Bigelow had previously supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis before his exit from the race after Iowa, highlighting growing unity among Republicans. Hamm had also donated funds to Nikki Haley’s unsuccessful White House bid.Additional attendees include Chicago Cubs co-owner Todd Ricketts and New York Jets co-owner Woody Johnson, as well as former Trump Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

Tickets for the event will range all the way up to $824,600 for the “Chairman” level, which includes seating at the former president’s dinner table.

“Now that President Trump won the primaries, defeating all 10 contenders by a landslide, I think it’s time for Republicans to unite behind him,” Paulsen recently said in a statement to Bloomberg. “For that reason, I’m hosting this inaugural event to galvanize the broad support there is for the president.”The event comes on the heels of President Biden’s New York City fundraiser that netted roughly $26 million for the president’s re-election campaign. The massive figure was hailed as a major win for the Biden Campaign, though attendees were ruthlessly heckled by pro-Palestine protesters outside the event who shouted “we’re never voting for Biden” and “genocide Joe!”

This weekend’s event signals the start of a major fundraising push for the Trump campaign now that he has clinched the Republican nomination for president. Trump recently hosted Kari Lake for another fundraiser, also at Mar-A-Lago, that netted a hefty $1 million, setting records for a non-incumbent candidate.

The former president also met with another group of potential big-money donors, including Elon Musk, in Palm Beach last month.
