Kate Middleton shocked the world when announcing that she is currently undergoing cancer treatments in a video message released last month. The video is now under a new angle of scrutiny after palace officials added a new disclaimer.
Getty Images added the disclaimer to their site, which was approved by Kensington Palace.
“EDITOR’S NOTE: This Handout clip was provided by a third-party organization and may not adhere to Getty Images’ editorial policy,” the caption reads, followed by standard information about the clip.
When approached for comment by Fox News, Getty told the outlet that it is standard procedure to add an editor’s note to “handout content provided by third-party organizations.”
Images of the Royal Family have increasingly been called into question following a bizarre incident where palace officials admitted that a photo of Middleton, Prince William and the couple’s children had been edited. The image was pulled by a number of outlets, including the Associated Press, Getty and Reuters, who noted that it contained evidence of manipulation.Middleton apologized a day later, saying “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”
The photo sparked intense speculation about Middleton’s whereabouts and health, as she had only been seen one time since December before she underwent an abdominal procedure earlier this year.
